Steve's Introduction to Philosophysing
In 2023 are the questions from the giants of intellectual thought and wisdom still relevant?
In this course we will try to apply an understanding of the ideas from Western philosophy to the problems of navigating a 21st Century world of disinformation. In the end .... only you can decide but perhaps some tools will help!

Marcia's Exercise/Dance Fitness
Our exercise class consists of gentle warm-ups, stretching, muscle toning and co-ordination. (No floor exercises). The class is a low-impact program and members are encouraged to only do what they can manage and sit out or improvise if they are unable to do whole program. Our dance fitness helps with co-ordination and balance. We have active members aged from 55 to 95, who thoroughly enjoy our classses and nobody leaves without a smile on their face.
Line Dancing
Line Dancing – go to MaDCOTA on Thursday – no partner is required. Lorraine is your hostess. Line Dancing is a choreographed routine of dancing in lines (so no partners are necessary). While working the brain you are using different muscles and dancing helps with your balance while moving to the beat. The music is not just country but from all genres. Music helps to stimulate emotions and also helps with anxiety/stress. It does not matter if you are not an experienced dancer. We dance for fun and the social aspect, so come along and give it a go.

Hand and Foot (Canasta)
Hand and Foot is one of the many versions of canasta, a popular card game. There are several versions of hand and foot too. This is the way the game is played in Maryborough. The game can be played by three players using six packs of cards or four players using five packs or six players with seven packs. Playing boards are used to hold the cards. In the three-handed game, each player plays their own game whilst the four-handed has two teams, the six-handed also has teams of three players.
Monday's Beginner Tai Chi
Tai Chi is a gentle form of exercise that has existed in multiple forms for thousands of years, known to aid a variety of conditions and improve your overall lifestyle. Anne is a qualified tutor of this art form who is always happy to help students. In 2023 the class will be learning some Qigong movements.
Thursday's Tai Chi

Yoga
Yoga is the science of right living and as such is intended to be incorporated into our daily life. The purpose of yoga is to unify the physical body with the mind and with the vital energy flowing within it, so that we can experience a sense of harmony and balance. We are never too young or too old to practice yoga. It encourages a strong body, a sharp mind, and it reduces stress. Come along and give it a try as we have members of all ages and abilities and Marjorie is willing to assist you to get the most out of the session.
QiGong Exercise
Qi means energy or life-force and Gong means exercise. Qigong is the flow of energy, the practice of aligning breath, movement and body awareness.
Exercises are repetitive and easily followed. Breathing becomes natural with each movement as one becomes more confident.
QiGong U3A Maryborough welcomes anyone who would like to come along and try. Age and fitness level is no object,
